Mom: So, what are you going to do with the kids while you do your Pagan rally?
Me: Oh, they're going to be with me.
Mom: WHAT?!
Me: Yeah, there are kids who go to these things. And when I do my class, they're going to be with me.
Mom: AAARGH!
Me: What? It's only a class.
Mom: So, you're going to have them marching with you?
Me: We don't do marches on Pagan Pride Day, Mom. We have classes on different traditions for those who want to learn more.
Mom: Oh! I thought you guys would be marching like on Gay Pride Day.
Me: No, Mom, we don't do that. We have classes, we have rituals...
Mom: Rituals? Do you kill, spindle, or mutilate the kids during these rituals?
Me: No...NO! Why would we do that?!
Mom: Well, that's what Pagans did in Biblical times...
Me: Yes, but we're not IN Biblical times. We live in modern times.
Mom: Oh...okay, so you're more civilized Pagans, then.
Me: Um...yeah, I guess.
Mom: Okay. Sorry, girl, I don't know these things.
Me: Well, Mom, that's why Pagan Pride Day was started.
Mom: Oh, okay.
I love me mom and everything, but GODDAMN!!
