Back to America and full of tea and sushi

H'oh man, LiveJournal, s'been a while. Since we last spoke, I've
  • said my goodbyes to my lovely Seoulite friends
  • moved back to the U.S. (paid the overweight fee on my luggage even after mailing back three boxes of stuff via boat)
  • realized I have way too much stuff for a single human being and decided that there's no helping it :P
  • got a badass smart phone as a joint gift from my uncle and dad
  • got a Sony Reader from my mum
  • hung out with my Chicagoan/Schaumburger camerados
  • GOT A JOE ♥ who drove up to meet my folks and trek about Chicago before whisking me away to Iowa City
  • moved in with Joe + his three roommates (two humans plus a doggie)
  • saw a whole bunch of my luvverly Iowa City camerados :3
  • got my sleep schedule to something resembling an average midwesterner's

AND NOW IS TIME FOR MEME from daffodelias

    1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up
My sight is limited 'cause the lights are off, but the telly's on, so: Giant-screen TV, an empty old hornets' nest suspended from the ceiling, a whole lot of Iowa City football memorabilia, a sleepy pit bull named Trinity, and Joe's left Converse.

    2. Favorite mixed drink:
Fat Frog! Candylike and radioactive green and unavailable, it seems, outside of Ireland. :<

    3. Are you a morning person or a night person?
I am not even human in the morning.

    4. Latest obsession?
Nothing, really. I've mostly been focusing on getting settled in again.

    5. What do you hear right now?
The commentary from the football game that Joe is playing, and the occasional profanity.

    6. Who was the last person you hugged?
Anna, maybe? or Sam. I hugged a lot of people last night.

    7. What is/was for dinner?
I had yam tempura, unagi-don, and green tea mochi at Sushi Po-Po. :D

    8. What did you do yesterday?
I went to pester Anna at work and try to get some revisions done at the Haunted Bookstore's Saturday afternoon write-in, bought s'more clothes hangers, had a mega delicious burger at Short's with Joe before grabbing some booze + Thin Mints and heading over to Sam&Anna's place for the party. Played with kitties. Paved the way for Beth's handy victory at Zombie Fluxx.

    9. Dog person or cat person?
Definitely a dog person. I will admit to the cuteness of cats, but they be so pointy. :T I kinda like the neediness of dogs; of course, I don't own one, and that might get old mighty quickly if I did.

    10. What's the farthest you've ever traveled?
    South Korea, probably.

    11. What was the last thing you bought?
TWIZZLER BITES. Twizzlers are easily one of my favorite candies, and I hadn't had any for a year and a half.

    12. If you could go anywhere in the universe, where would you go?
I'm actually not that interested in other planets. I mean, it'd be neat to see 'em, but it'd prolly get boring after a while as they are. I hear good things about Prague, and I reeeally want to go to the Tesla Museum in Belgrade. I've always wanted to check out Glasgow, too. I wanted to go to India last winter but didn't want to deal with the shots :T

    13. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully writing professionally and/or nicely settled into a job for which my degrees trained me. Also hopefully someplace where the summer humidity doesn't make me want to hibernate every year.

    14. Favorite book?
I think it's still G. K. Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday. It carried me through a lot of powerful emotions in a rather short stretch, which continues to impress me.

    15. What are you doing this weekend?
Seeing as how it's already Sunday night, very little! I think the plan for the rest of the night is to watch a movie after Joe's game. I might get s'more reading done; just finished getting caught up on the trades for The Boys, started Nnedi Orakofor's Who Fears Death, and was lent a pile of Batman comics--mostly Grant Morrison's run. I may also get at a little more of the Dalwhinnie left over from the party :3

    16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
    Violin or gayageum.

    17. Favorite color?
    Lime green, cerulean, lavender, teal.

    18. What are you doing tomorrow?
I may head downtown with Joe (he's going to class) and just wander around a bit. Maybe borrow his library card (and probably him with it, as I don't look too much like a Joseph or a C____).

    19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Lotsa things! Seeing more of my friends, going to WisCon in May, traveling later this summer, going to grad school in fall!
