Okay, this is a mixed rant and update. I'm pissed but also excitied, because what happened was good AND bad.
What happened is this. At around 1:25 the gas main behind Kerr Hall (a dormitory at Northeastern) exploded. And by exploded I mean KABOOM. I heard a huge boom that took a couple books offa my bookshelf in my room.
I grabbed my pen and pad and went looking. Many thought it was a car crash or a tree falling. But as I came to fenway, I saw that kerr hall had been damaged. EMS and firetrucks were evacuating that building.
I spent the next two hour and a half hours reporting. I got quotes from everyone. I found out the entire story. My editor was there for about five to ten minutes before she left to go type this up and put it on the internet. I had interviewed everyone and gave her my quotes. I asked could I get part of the byline. "sure" well after again running back there to cover the fuckin' flare up as well and interview the Vice President of Facilities and the Cheif of EMS and get the names of the three injured students I went to class.
So when I came back I read the letter to the students from Northeastern. I can't link you, cuz its a javascript app, but heres the text.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. today there was an explosion in the basement of Northeastern University
