Purgatory.

Is this some sort of farce? Fire, smoke--This is no Purgatory, but very nearly the notion of Hell that has been instilled into us.

I suppose that I should not have been expecting anything gre

This is to be eternity, then?

And what is this contraption?

I'm not much for long explanations, they should have given you what you need when you woke up.

But this is certainly Purgatory. There is just the matter of a drought that gives it that rather hell-like feel.

Also, how would you possibly know what Hell, truly Hell is like unless you have been there.

Purgatory is susceptible to droughts. Interesting.

I never claimed to know for certain, only what was generally thought. You almost make it sound as if you know what Hell is like, yourself.

Purgatory experiences seasonal changes and the weather as any other, typical place.

I know what a hell is like. It is far less pleasant than this place.

Fascinating. The fires make it difficult to make out, but this place even seems as if...just a simple city.

How would you know that?

It is.

I've been there, of course. How else?

Tell me, then, what is it like?

I will restate this - a hell, not the Hell.

So you wish to know of the suffering of others? Eternal punishment? It is a very dark place, little landscape. Occasional rivers.

And this, this Purgatory, is only temporary? Let me see if I understand this all. People are brought here after death--and before death, in some cases (?), to atone for their sins. Who is to judge whether a person has atoned? You "gods"?

Yes, not necessarily necessary for one to be dead to arrive here. I don't judge, I do that at home. I watch, reside, test. The Presence - Purgatory itself - judges.

I am the only actual god here.

You reside elsewhere? Then what is your purpose here? What is meant when you say that you "test"?

Of course I do.

Test? I once Ruled. I already stated what I do here.

Break boundaries, challenge you - and others - with things you have not likely encountered.
