Work

So I'm done reeling from my recent job app rejections, buoyed by constant affirmations that the universe has a plan for me and it isn't to be an underpaid secretary or bank teller (though the steady pay and BENEFITS sure would have been nice). I'd like the universe to disclose to me just what its great plan IS, but in the meantime I have a new report to edit, and I'll also finally call the school this week to start substitute teaching.

Lazarus starts preschool again tomorrow -- he's SO excited, and I'm SO relieved he'll be in a more structured environment again -- and so Antonio and I have decided to put some structure back into our lives, too. We'll go over (with Maggie) to our store every morning, first to clean it up and later to start, well, working it like a store, all day, every day. We're going to take over at least one of our big desks (in storage for four years now) so I can set up office space, and as soon as I finish clearing out that whole room, I want to set up a sewing/crafting area as well. We've promised each other not to get overwhelmed this time... I hope we can stick to the plan, because we really do need a change of pace and scenery. Not to mention getting that whole revenue-generating thing on track, especially since my August jewelry sales will barely exceed $100 (gah!!!).

So that's what tomorrow holds. Today: work on "IT Security in Higher Education" -- chapters 3, 4, and 5. Well, chapters 3 and 4, at least....
