* Day 14 - What is your favorite book pairing?
Catty Turner and Chryssipus from Daughters of the Moon. Baaw, these two make me so incredibly sad, and they are also my favorite pairing through the whole series, despite the fact that they're not together for long at all. His whole existence is basically hinged on her and her fulfilling her destiny as the Heir of the Secret Scroll, but he finds her so beautiful that he can't resist getting to know her. So they start dating, and he falls in love with her. Then she finds out the truth, that he's a 2000 year old Spartan warrior, and that his duty is to protect her and the Scroll. So when she loses it in time, he leaves her, promising that one day that they will be together forever. With a final kiss, he leaves her. She pines for him for... Pretty much the entire rest of the series. When they meet again, it's because her father had trapped him in order to use Chris against Catty. Chris begs her to release him from the curse of the Scroll, which will essentially kill him. Through tearful protests, Catty finally fulfills her destiny, and Chris dies. After Catty has sacrificed her own life to destroy the Atrox, Stanton tells Vanessa that where Catty went, maybe this was what Chris meant by them being able to be together forever.
