First World problems

Which is a great phrase for things that aren't really awful but nonetheless leave you feeling really irritated for a good hour or two.

Like having a relative come visit you when you haven't cleaned the house.

Or like finally fixing a machine that hasn't been working for nearly two years only to have it break down due to an unrelated problem, a week later.

Or like running to catch the bus to work and missing it by seconds, because it arrived five minttues early, and then, only once you've turned around to go home and send in an email letting work know you'll be late, realising that that was actually the earlier bus ten minutes late and you have to run for your actual bus, only to miss that by seconds too. (Which reminds me, why the hell are there two buses within fifteen minutes of each other around 8 and then not another one until ten to 9?)

Or like reading a really great story only to realise too late that it's actually a WIP that hasn't been updated for six years and you will never find out how it ends. (Okay so I'm pretty sure it would have ended with kisses and sunsets but it's not really the same.)

Or like spending ages trying to remove a tick from your dog only to find that it's actually a wart and you've been hurting him for no good reason.

It's been a bloody long week, is all I'm saying.

Anyway, meme.

ASK ME ANYTHING → personal, fandom, roleplay, romantic, pop culture, the hard-hitters, the sky's the limit.
