AT&T lies again

Nov 29, 2009 07:48

a while ago, AT&T had to pull an ad campaign "fewest dropped calls" (source) because it was found that they were lying.

now, verizon hit them where they hurt, and they are pissed. They have had a resurgence with the iPhone being exclusively AT&T, but a good percent of iPhone users cite AT&T's service as the worst part of the deal (source). now they are showing commercials claiming that their coverage is just a big. one should note that they are comparing ALL their coverage to Verizon's 3G coverage, just a part of their coverage. I also noted that they refer to how many people HAVE a phone of theirs, not whether they have good coverage on it.

then came the lie that moved me to write a post about this. "97% of all Americans." I find that hard to believe. if even 97% of Americans own a cell phone... are they including their land line customers? are they counting a phone in one household to be covering all members? I mean, how far are they stretching to make this even close to true?

AT&T, you were the worst customer service when i was working in telecom. You had the weakest phones whose best selling point was battery life. You LUCKED into this deal with Apple, but you are still lying to your public. I hope this bites you in the ass!
