an apple a day...

we went to Webster, MN, today to the Nelson Apple Orchard, since the SiL and i had both bought a Crowd Cut coupon for this little adventure.  the website lead it to sound more exciting than it was.  yes, it was a cute little place, and it was NOT crowded, thankfully.

we got our "free" $10 worth of apples and admission to their Fun Things:  corn maze (where we lost Clara as she went off her own way--just like that girl, Maude bless her--and couldn't find her for a while--hence the term "lost"--and it looked like a tthunderstorm was rolling in,  duck pond & tractor ride (which we didn't get to b/c it required the tractor ride which was full by the time we found Clara and no one seemed to have the patience to wait for the next ride), petting farm (which had a bunny in a cage--unpettable--and 2 chickens in another cage--also unpettable--and a sad-looking little calf which was pettable if she got off her hay bed) and golf putt (which was one astroturf covered plank of wood with a hole and a bowl of 3 balls).  we didn't get any pumpkins here although we could have, but i did pick up some Christmas gifts for my momma and some cheese, to go with our Connel Red apples.

but i think next year we will go back to the orchard we went to 2 years ago in Buffalo, as we all agreed this AM that was our favorite of all the orchards we have explored together.

apples, adventures
