Our building is 10 years old today. Or... our company has been in this building 10 years. We're celebrating by having a "picnic" in our department (its 100% indoor). I knew this. So I didn't make a lunch. What I didn't know was that it is hotdogs only. I don't like hotdogs. I thought that if I put enough ketchup and mustard on the dog it would be okay, but its still gross.
I'm curious though: do I genuinely dislike the taste, or if its the thought of what goes into hotdogs that I don't like. People say there is some pretty weird stuff in hotdogs. I don't know what's true and what's not, but its still bothers me. Hell, if you told me that steak was made of the ground remains of the souls of orphans, I'd probably stop eating so much steak too. There's a mental factor to it.
I filled up on chips, cookies, and other stuff, so don't you worry about me. It was just an interesting dilemma to me.
The whole Jew holidays thing is going well. I don't look forward to 4 more hours in a synagogue, but I haven't been able to convince alison that a podcast is the same as going to synagogue. Yom Kippur is this weekend. I should probably look it up in Wikipedia so I know what its about. I think Yom means "potato" and Kippur means "regicide" so it roughly works out to "day of atonement." Wish me luck on the whole atoning thing. Though... on a side note, does anyone watch the
Colbert Report?
