We try, as a very loose rule, to have several vegetarian meals a week. We're not trying to become vegetarian; we're just trying to limit our meat consumption a little. I would say that we're probably not the best at that. Honestly, if we had 3 vegetarian meals a week, that would be a good week. We do eat a lot of chicken. For some reason I feel guilty about that... I'll have to explore that guilt later. I hate that guilt. Why does eating meat suddenly seem so wrong? Anyhow, what I really wanted to talk about was
Quorn It's a meat substitute. It's actually fantastic. It really does taste like meat. Frankly, I love it. That being said, does it seem like cheating to anyone else? To say, "I'm going to eat vegetables" and then eat a meat flavored vegetable? Maybe it's just a crutch. You start out with quorn and that's like your gateway vegetarian staple. After that you move into the hard stuff: the tofu, the beans, and the wood pulp. There's not really anything wrong with eating the meat substitutes. In fact, it adheres to my credo of "something's better than nothing." I still feel like it's cheating though.
