I rode my bike to work today. I rode it there, and then I rode it home. Trouble was that it was windy and cold (in the 50s) on the way there, and it was windy and hot (in the 80s) on the way home. I was so exhausted when it was all done. I felt great in the morning. I felt pretty good all day. It wasn't till I got home that I was completely exhausted. I do feel good about it though. I get some good exercise, and I get to cut back on my "carbon footprint."
I do need to work on a few things though: I need to pack my backpack better. I had a bunch of stuff in it and it made it both bulky, and kind of heavy. So i need to find some way to be more efficient, or to keep some stuff at work. Its just that a lunch, towel, bath supplies (because I also exercise in the gym when I get there), clothes to change into, etc.... It all takes up space in the bag. I decided a smaller towel (I had a rather large bath towel) and maybe leaving some of the bath stuff in a drawer at work could really help out.
My project of changing out the grout in my bathroom is going very slowly, but I found a better way to do it. The grout saw works really well, but it kind of assumes that your tiles kept their spacing over the years. Yeah. Mine definitely did not. So instead I'm using a razor. Now, this was not my idea, but I'm going to take credit for finally using it. You'd think after all these years of my father being right (especially about this sort of thing), I'd just listen right away. Alas, I'm still an idiot. It takes a little longer to use the razor, but it really cuts down on the "chipping" factor for the tiles. Yes, it still chips them if you're not careful, but just little, tiny chips at the edges. Nothing like large chunks that the grout saw can do. So, I definitely recommend the razor approach. And a lot of time.
