I saw NIИ last night. AMAZING.
We had lawn tickets, and the lawn was wet, so we got our asses soaked, but no one cared.
First band up was Peaches.
I'm not really a fan, but she wasn't too bad. The song "Fuck the Pain Away" was pretty good.
Second Band up, Bauhaus.
Amazing. Ah, very good, but not the best. Not what they used to be. Stood at the railing for that one.
Headlining: Nine Inch Nails
SIMPLY AMAZING. They opened with "Only", which was amazing. I was
standing at the railing, thrashing and screaming along from the first
beat. Trent Reznor is simply genious live. As I had hoped, they played
mostly older material, with only three or four songs from "With_Teeth"
and everything else was older material. Durring "Something I Can Never
Have" (a personal favorite) purple lights filled the stage and I cried
my eyes out. As Closer began to play red lights and flowing images swam
on stage, a screen came down (much like the metal grates they put over
closed stores in malls) and all you could see was Trent's silloete
dancing while he grabed his crotch and sang. No moshing at this show,
but I was dancing my ass off. Durring "Hurt" the entire crowd sang
along as Trent pounded on the piano. Durring "We're in this together
now" I stood ontop of a Trash Can, where I proceded to dance until some
gaurds made me get back on the railing. The last song they played "Head
Like a Hole", was amazing. I danced with some random stranger. I guess
I came off as a slut, because afterwards he said to me "now don't go
fucking around now."
Over all it was an amazing show. To me, the music Trent Reznor creates
is a lover, a mother, a friend, a foe, a monster, an entire world of
relations to me. I didn't even remember who I was, where I was, or
anything but the music until it was all over.
I know that sounds really cheezy. But it was amazing. I'll remember it
forever, and look forward to future shows with Nine Inch Nails.
