Not Quite a Halloween Fic

Summary: Once when he was still a boy his father told him of the ocean at night and how not few men have fallen overboard by staring too long, too hard, too late. Bruce looks away, closes his eyes, but he thinks he has drowned a long time ago.

Notes: I have been a lurker of this community for quite some time and since the entries have decreased as of late I decided to try my hand at writing fanfiction. I actually wanted to make my debut as an author on Halloween but due to rather Joker-esque reasons that plan has been turned on itself. So, here is my first fic though the genre does not really fit to the theme of Halloween but is more along the lines of angst.

Also, may I have an author tag? I shall try to write more in the future though I must admit I am rather unskilled and need to gather more experience. Though it is only a drop in the ocean I hope it creates enough ripples to keep the batmanjoker community alive and kicking.
