Chocolates and Gambling

Jul 06, 2008 20:49

It's been a chocolate filled week. There was San Churro during the week and then a chocolate tour on Saturday as part of my friend's hens night. Six chocolaterias later and with a new appreciation of the difference between expensive and cheap chocolate, the desire to stuff my face full of chocolate is sated (for now).

Below is a picture of a very clever lass playing jazz on her saxaphone with one hand and juggling in the other. Behind her is Haigh's Sydney Chocolate Shop in the Strand Arcade and just across the street is the new shiny Apple store.

There are strange things afoot in Sydney of late. Last Saturday my friend gave a taxi driver a tip and was offered a bunch of bananas in return. A few days earlier I saw a man sitting at Redfern Station around six in the evening, his face covered in shaving cream. There was the flash mob in Pitt St on the 24th June - a few hundred people who froze like statues for a couple of minutes during lunch hour.

And for your viewing pleasure, here is a blurry dark picture of two ladies sitting on lounges at the Star City Casino. Saturday night, buzzing casino. Are these two gambling? Drinking?

No. They're knitting. Waiting for their husbands?
