Clubbyness

Last night we went to Spellbound, the new goth club in DC.  Much fun was had, and there is a plan to make clubbing a monthly event.

1.  We went with a large group of people we knew.  And it turned out that we knew over 90% of the other people at the club.  Elder goths of DC, unite!
2.  The music was very early 90s, and thus we all knew the songs and enjoyed them
3.  The music was loud enough to dance to happily, but quiet enough that conversations were held without needing to raise your voice much
4.  They serve food!  I got munchies at 1:00am, and they were still serving when we left around 2:00.
5.  The dance space is small (~15' x 20').  But the club is actually a CLUB, in which to hang out, chatter, and have fun.  Dancing is there, but is not the main focus.
6.  Everyone at the club seemed happy, energetic, and just were pleasant.  No "oh, I am sooooo goth", no "you  must drink more!", just fun.

Anyhow:  club is good.  There will probably be an LJ filter/feed/something so everyone can decide on weekends for future trips.
