Hey, I finally finished it, I had been busy. It was lovely! Hmm, someone asked above if you are a writer on the show and you did not confirm or deny....I have heard that in some fandoms, some writers write fics as well...There was actually one that I suspected in Torchwood until it went AU...Anyway, great job!!!

lol I'm definitely not a writer for the show, though I've always wondered whether some show writers might try fanfics on the side for the ideas that never made it to the screen. There've definitely been a few fics over the years I've been suspicious of... Glad I'm not the only one ;)

Do you have other gen fics?

Yeah, there was this Torchwood/Doctor Who fic a few months ago and I was like OHH this writer HAS to be from the show, but then on chapter 4 an AU warning popped up and I said ok, a real writer would NOT get people reading and then put up a warning...(I hate when people do that, as I do not read AU). It's especially gen-fics/ case-fics that I get suspicious of because of the detail involved. I actually have a good friend who writes writer-quality fics for CSI, but I knew her before I read her fics, otherwise I would have suspected, even though there are ships involved.

Most of the fics on my LJ are gen fics (and primarily Reid-centric, since I'm working my way through an FF100 challenge), but this is the only case fic I've finished so far.

I always get suspicious of the gen fics too, especially if they have a good case in them (at least, for shows like CM). Have you ever read Eligent's fics? I wondered for a while about her stuff, since they were some of the best case fics I'd read in the fandom at the time, and there weren't any ships involved. I guess I just got so used to reading ship-centric fics or non-case-centric fics that suddenly seeing one that was different made me pause. I think it'd be cool, though, if the writers really did dabble in fanfiction from time to time.
