You know, this fic did a good job of reminding me of the fact that for 6 years, Alfred didn't know where Bruce was or if he was dead. It's easy to forget about that time in their lives. I found the image you drew of Alfred looking for Bruce on the streets quite sad and touching. Well done.

Poor guy. I always feel bad for Alfred being stuck at home waiting on Bruce and just hoping that he's alright each night. Heck, at one point he left the manor only to have the entire place burned down in the first film. He never knows what Bruce is going to get into, and what he's going to have to do to help. I really loved the emotion you captured between them with this.

Wow, there's so much in so few words here! Alfred trying to hunt down Bruce, figure out what happened to him and where he went and why, trying to see the Narrows through Bruce's eyes and through the emotion he was experiencing... And of course I always like caretaker!Alfred stories where helping Bruce and Batman is what he does out of love and understanding.
