Summary: Robin is sure Bats needs a catchphrase ... even though Batman disagrees with him.
“I told you already, I don't need a catchphrase.” The Batman snarled as he turned the corner sharply.
“Come on, bats.” Robin whined from the passenger side. “Every hero has a good line they use when they kick the badguy's ass!”
“Superman doesn’t have one.” he countered.
“Up, Up and AWWWAYYYYYYYY!!!!!” Robin called out.
“That’s not a catchphrase.” Batman challenged.
“How about ‘truth, justice and the American way?” Robin replied with a grin. “Up in the sky, it’s a bird… it’s a plane…”
“It’s a smartass.” Batman finished for him.
“Hey… hate the game, not the player.”
“What about Lantern?”
“In blackest day and darkest night, no evil shall escape my sight… Green Lantern’s light!” Robin pretended to shoot something with an imaginary ring.
Batman sighed. “Catchphrases are not that important.”
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
“Stop that.”
“Why?”
“Beause this is upsetting me.”
“And we wouldn’t like to see you when you’re angry?”
Batman gave Robin with a hard stare.
“Is it clobbering time?” Robin asked.
“Not yet.” Batman said as he ripped another corner.
“I just think you should consider it.”
“Not happening.”
“Why not?”
“Because I don’t need a catchphrase!”
“Why not?” Robin repeated, “What makes you so special?”
“I’m Batman.”
There was a long, awkward silence. Robin wanted to say something, but was doing his best to keep a straight face.
“Is that all?” Batman asked. "Are we finished with this subject?"
”Yes.” Robin managed to squeek out.
“Good, let’s not speak about this again.” Batman said as he began to slow down after they entered the Batcave and finally came to a stop at the main platform.
“No problem.” Robin said as he gave his partner a playful scowl as he was opening the door. “I’m Batman!”
Before Batman could respond, Robin had already bolted from the car and laughed all the way up to his room in the Manor.
