Bruce didn't like taking these trips, but Thomas Wayne always preached family values when doing his PR speeches. So it was necessary to have his with him when making speeches to the people when he was doing business in the many towns that were new homes to the many factories of Wayne Enterprises. The little boy of only seven years old stood there, bored to tears as his father talked from the podium to mark the opening of a new plant that brought new jobs to the small town that needed the employment during the recession. After it was all done, everyone was mingling and eating food and drinking champange, something he hated doing even more so Bruce decided to take off and do something else. The plant was close to the downtown area, so Bruce decided to take a walk and get away from it all.

The town's downtown area was so slow, Bruce thought to himself as he strolled around. Just as he said that something happened.

There was a few construction workers doing renovations on a small theatre that was being upgraded to something else. The workers were using a crane to lift a huge sign that was going to be attached to the front wall. One of the lines broke, and the sign that was at least twenty feet in length, broke from their control and went hurtling to the gound, towards Bruce. Even though something was falling towards him, Bruce was frozen... like a deer caught in the headlights. He cowered down and covered his eyes with his arms, screaming as death came towards him.

But nothing happened.

Bruce opened his eyes. He wasn't in the street anymore. He slowly stood up to realize he was on the side of the road, surrounded by corn fields as far as the eye could see. Right beside him was a long driveway to a farm. There was a massive sign that hung beside the road. It read: Kent Farm.

As Bruce slowly got back to his feet, he turned around to realize he wasn't alone. There was another boy, pretty much his own age, standing there at the end of the drive. "Are you all right?" he quietly asked.

"I'm fine." Bruce replied, somewhat confused. "What happened?"

"I'm not allowed to tell you. My dad says it's a secret."

"Oh, okay." Bruce paused for a moment. "Did you save me?"

"Yes, I did. That sign was going to crush you."

"How did we get out here?"

"I'm a fast runner." the boy pointed to at the farmhouse. "That's my dad's farm. Wanna play?"

"Sure!" Bruce said, somewhat grateful to be alive. He held his hand out to the boy in friendship. "I'm Bruce."

"Hi Bruce, my name is Clark."
