It's a wonderful old barn...
Another weekend, another foot through the barn loft floor.
Two weeks ago we got hay delivered to to see Kelly's imminently arriving mare through the winter. My sister Peg and brother-in-law Joe came out to help me get the hay into the loft then and I ended up putting my foot (and whole) leg through the barn loft floor then. Very scary going into free fall but no real damage done to me other than my nerves.
Yesterday I was moving some old hay round in the loft so we can make a new opening from the bottom of the barn for a new permanent ladder to the loft. In the process I found another bad spot in the loft floor and put my foot and calf through this time since y weight was mostly on my other foot. So at least I avoided the complete sense of free fall but still not good for the nerves. Again no real damage beyuond my nerves but I'll admit I'm not looking forward to going up in the loft again any time soon.
