(no subject)
Busy weekend. We have our first CouchSurfer who actually showed up- she does trail work for the Southwest Conservation Corps and was super tired last night. She seems nice and very low-maintenance.
I started working at the clay co-op this week. I was chipping kiln wash off shelves with a big chisel and sanding the walls of the new little building and learning how to wet-mix glazes. Studio work is incredibly physical, which I did not quite realize. But I get a weekly class, glazing, firing and a whole bunch of practice time for free so it's a pretty sweet deal.
People make some really ugly bowls when they first learn wheel. *laughs* I'll try not to inflict too much lumpy odd-colored pottery on you guys while I'm learning. I will probably do so anyway, just say thank you and then give it to your neighbor to use as a cat bowl or something ;)
Also, you can apparently pay a guy to call someone and pretend to be a turtle. http://www.turtlecalls.com/

I have a project that maybe you guys can help on- I'm making a mix CD of songs that make me feel motivated to keep moving, start a revolution, run really far, begin new things, tear stuff up, go be amazing, etc. Can you help point me in the direction of some neat songs? There are prizes! I'll mail the person who comes up with the most ideas AND the person who comes up with my favorite new song a copy of the CD once it is done.
