Y'know, I used to believe that the world was a good place to be in, and that if we just tried hard enough, we could overcome others' stagnation and apathy. Boy, do I know about the shredding . . . That stint I pulled at Volvo put me to sorting and separating employment records and insurance claims. When I was really losing my gourd, I'd start to make up stories about the files I saw: "Ohh, look, the Graelens had a little boy last year! I'm so glad he got that raise!"

*shudder*

I don't suppose you can sneak in some music for the drudgery? Surely nobody would mind a concealed earbud--especially if you just use one, so you can hear if somebody needs you . . . (Y'know, that would have worked so much better for me if I could have actually heard with BOTH ears. ;)

I think you're on the right track, though, by simplifying when you can. Good luck, and I hope things get better . . .

*grin* I do have some music to break up the drudgery, yes, and no one really minds. They are, in fact, individual earbuds which I frequently leave half-on/half-off so that I can hear what's going on outside the music.
