Okay, last we talked I was going on about how cold Minnesota was and picking up strange men in bars. (-_-;;; I say to that)
Did I mention the people? Yeah, if you want to experience that just watch Fargo and you've essentially met everyone from Minnesota. Good now that's out of the way, let's move on to more interesting things.
Now I'm sure you're all dying to know what the heck I've been doing up here? Well there's a refinery up here owned by a company that has several engineers from my company working here quasi-temporarily/permanently to take care of the maintenance of the plant. Basically, I'm using my mad chemical engineering skillz to fix the refinery's immediately problems. For instance one of the burners in the plant was emitting SOx (ya know the stuff that makes acid rain) and they wanted me to look at the system to figure out where the sulfur in the SOx was coming from. It was kinda fun believe it or not and Virginia was even able to help me out with her mad library skillz. Heh. We definitely work better as a team.
Then there was my trip to Golden, Colorado for the
AIChE conference. Overall it was kinda fun, Golden is really small and looks real nice and once you get off the plane you can see the snow capped mountains in the distance. As part of the conference they offered us to a tour of this nearby brewery, Coors or something like that. It was kinda small... if you consider
this a kids meal. This place was freakin huge. It had mash tons the size of a two story house. It had railroad tracks running through the middle of it and disappearing into dark caverns. Spooky.
After that little side track adventure, things kinda slowed down mainly cause now I'm tied up with this humongous model of the diesel blending system at the refinery. Ugh. I've been working 50 hrs for the last three weeks. And that's average for everyone there. Though it's kinda neat being up here, I don't have internet at work (sux) and basically I'd be scolded if I get too chatty either with co-workers or on the phone since the client here is real anal about what they percieve as us being non-productive (uber double sux0r).
Hmmmm, well that's all worth posting here and I think it's about time to stop boring ya'll. Yep, welp, that's it, now go on and read somebody else's journal. Scram!
Adios my good folks!
.....
What are you still doing here? I said scram you deadbeats!
