Yep. (That is the same answer I gave for gramina, as well.) I think the first time we met you it was at a party, and you didn't say a word beyond hello. Cute-poet-chick thought you were reallllllly gorgeous. :-)

Why laughing?

"and laughing about it" is something you can fill out in an OKCupid profile when you specify your religion. It's set up in the form of a sentence:

Religion: (drop down list) (drop down list)
The options for the second drop down list are: "and very serious about it," "and somewhat serious about it," "but not too serious about it" and "and laughing about it."

For religion, I have "Buddhism and laughing about it."

When I laugh about astrology it's different from when I laugh about religion.

On believing in god, it's not that I am "completely certain" there isn't a god, it's just that there's not a lot of evidence for the existence of a god that satisfies my intellect. The evidence appears to be mostly emotional, e.g., "well, a lot of people feel something they call the presence of god" (including me, although i don't call it that) or circumstantial, e.g., "I prayed and something good happened to me." But I think there are psychological/brain chemistry explanations for the former and statistical explanations for the latter.Just to be clear, when I made comments about "militant atheists", I didn't mean you at all. (I didn't mean anyone I know, which includes Serene and Jill, who are both very strong atheists, but, at least to my knowledge, are not disparaging of all expressions of spirituality, which is all I ask ( ... )
