So we went to watch the AFL Grand Final yesterday. We found a crappy little international bar called The Clubhouse. It's co-owned by an aussie and a yank.
The TV was satellite fed and crappy (possibly due to the rain). The signal would pause or the framerate would drop often, making it difficult to see specifics of action.
I was finally exposed to the Ugly Aussie of ex-pat culture. It wasn't pretty. The kind of guys you'd cross the street to avoid back in Aus. No doubt street drinking and starting fights.
Anyway, the Geelong Cats won! Hooray! That's good news for me :D
It was quite funny, as be fore the game started
jm-horse says he wished he'd put some money on Cameron Mooney (Mad-Dog Mooney) kicking the first goal of the match. This he did much to the delight of all, except for one of the ugly Aussies, the rare and endangered Port Adelaide supporter. Heh.
Today is Sunday, where the cos-players go nuts in Harajuku (I'm hoping the rain won't dampen [pun intended] the fun too much). They even have cat-ears and things for sale from stalls in the area.
We check-out of the Tokyo hotel today. We'll be taking a shinkansen (bullet-train) to Osaka tonight where we'll stay until the flight from Kansai International Airport, Osaka tomorrow.
