Germany

So, Eurofurence is over and we're out in Germany proper. Once we moved towards the West, the language barrier decreased enormously and many people (especially service/hospitality staff) speak at least some English.

We're in a little town called Rothenburg, which is a medieval relic, complete with town wall. It's pretty cool.
Germany seems to have lots of cool looking cathedrals too. There's on thing to you say about religion, it makes for some cool architecture.

As I type this I hear the clop-clopping of horses' hooves as they cart tourists around the little village, rumbling over the cobbled streets.

We had our first Autobahn experiences yesterday, driving at 170km/h in a Renault Scenic (or Civic? I forget). It's a surprisingly capable little car. Very scsary for the first hour or so then settled down. I wish I had my motorbike here.

I'll upload a bunch of photos to a flickr account which I'll list shortly.

That's all for the moment, more to come.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention, Europe seems to be well behind Australia and the UK in terms of smoking legislation. There's massive amounts of smoking everywhere, including in restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels. Eew.
