The H8 contenuse
This week the California supreme court upheld the atrocity that is prop 8. As a straight woman in america this has little bearing on my life choices personally.I have never been ostracized for who I love,no one will think twice about the fact that I may one day find a life partner with or without the benefit of marriage.I will never be denied that choice in my country let alone my home state.
However this week the state court let us down because a select few prayed on the fear and lack of understanding of a group who's only sin was too love each other enough to wish to join in a legal marriage in the sate of California.
I still wonder how such a progressive state could allow rights to be taken away because of who people love.
And were do we draw the line? None straight? None christian? None male? None White?
There is no us and them.There are only facets of us.
