OTP meme: Day 30 [BONUS]

The ships that almost made it to my list, but ultimately didn't.

Okay, so this isn't technically a part of the meme, but since I somehow managed to mess up my numbers (how'd that happen??), I came out with an extra day and decided to do this.  Below the cut are some of my favorite ships who came very close to making the list somewhere, but didn't quite.  I'm so sad to come to the end of this meme -- I've very much enjoyed doing it!  Perhaps I shall find another...  Anyway, enjoy!

Dr. Daniel Jackson and Dr. Sarah Gardner, Stargate: SG-1.  I know sooooo many people subscribe to the Daniel/Vala Mal Doran 'ship, but Claudia Black absolutely drives me up the wall and her character, if possible, is worse.  BUT, back around to why I ship Daniel/Sarah.  They're both academically minded, had quite the interesting history together, and were very much an item before Daniel disappeared from the academic world when he became involved in the Stargate program.  To me, once Sarah became host to Osiris, then had the symbiote removed, thus became knowledgeable about the program and such, was the perfect opening for them to pursue something.  Not to mention the fact that they had some pretty awesome chemistry... :)

Leo & Cara, Legend of the Seeker.  In the brief time when Richard went to the Old World and a new Seeker -- Leo -- was named, I grew rather attached to him.  And the quick attraction between Leo and Cara was quite obvious, and definitely intrigued me.  It was interesting to see a different side to the hardened, surly Mord-Sith that was softer, gentler, and yes, even romantic.  Leo did so much to soften up Cara in the short time he was on the show and they were together, and because of that, I love these two so much.

Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, Star Wars. You can't be a fan of the epic space saga without being familiar with its most famous star-crossed lovers. I admit that I am a major fan of Harrison Ford - I've loved him in everything I've seen him in -- and seriously, even if it weren't for that, I think I would have been rooting for Han and Leia anyway. There's just something about the strong-willed princess and the "scruffy" smuggler-turned-freedom-fighter that makes me feel all happy inside. They're always bickering, but even that is just another layer to their complicated but absolutely adorable love story.

Milo Thatch and Kida, Atlantis: The Lost Empire.  This is like the lost movie of Disney Animation Studios, which makes me really sad, because I love this movie.  I've always been fascinated by the Atlantis myth (it is NOT on the Bimini Road, it is in Santorini!!! :P), and I was really excited when I found this movie when I was channel hopping one day.  Now it's one of my favorite Disney movies of all time.  I loved Milo from the beginning -- I have a thing for geeky, nose-always-buried-in-a-book, kinda-lost-in-real-life guys.  And of course how could I not like the independant, spirited, witty Kida?  I really liked this ship through the movie the first time I saw it, but what really cemented it for me was the scene in the crystal cave where Kida gets swept up.  That just gave me goosebumps all over, and I knew for sure that Milo/Kida was going to be an OTP for me from then on out.

Yuki Sohma and Tohru Honda, Fruits Basket.  My friend recently loaned me her English dubbed copy of the anime, and absolutely love it, just as she promised I would.  I love Yuki and Tohru together for several reasons, but the main ones are because they're both so gentle and emotional, and you can see it on Yuki's face when he looks at Tohru how much he cares for her.  There are so many moments in my head that stand out in the anime that show how perfect these two are for each other.

And, last but certainly not least, Hatsuharu "Haru" Sohma and Saki "Hana" Hanajima, Fruits Basket.  They both have that kind of gothic look about them, they both are usually very calm and gentle people, but they can get very defensive of themselves and the ones they love if they feel danger is near.  Plus, I think Saki could keep Haru's Black side reined in when he starts getting surly -- one quick zap, and it's back to White Haru.  Thus far in my dabblings in the FB fandom, I've enjoyed playing with the dynamics of both characters separately, and especially together.

Thanks for sticking with me through this OTP meme! :)
