Ah, I didn't understand the question. But yeah, I just thought it was funny that he did avatar, more than anything. I haven't seen all of JJ's shows, which might speak to my personal tastes. I guess we should just go with their mainstream stuff that they had a major influence on.
Joss Whedon: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible, Toy Story, Titan A.E.,
JJ Abram: Star Trek, Fringe, Lost, Cloverfield, 6 Degrees, What About Brian, Alias, Felicity, Forever Young, Regarding Henry, MI3, Armageddon.
If nothing else, JJ seems to work more. I would say that, looking at that list, Whedon seems to be afraid to stray from his roots. This isn't knocking it, since I've seen literally everything there because it appeals to me and I have only seen 1/2 of JJ's work. I still stand by my original statement, even pulling it down to just the major influences.
And yes, the Joss and Smith have INCREDIBLY rabid fanbases. If you look at their work though, people really mostly like the same thing by that person over and over. You notice the other two (Judd and JJ), they seem to branch out more with their work.
