Kings Of Leon / Dana, Doug and Jenn / Kings Of Leon
damn, it's been awhile since i posted one of these bastards. so here was my week, in a nutshell:
Monday:
went and saw Kings Of Leon with Secret Machines and Shout Out Louds...all of these bands were really good and i bought Secret Machines' record the next day, i'll be getting Shout Out Louds' record soon too. Kings Of Leon kicked serious ass, they played all but 3 songs off their first record and all but 1 from their 2nd.
Wednesday:
i went to an in-store by the Knitters in the city but proceeded to watch none of it because Dana, the person i'm staying with in Austin and who i stayed with when i flew to Minneapolis to see Paul Westerberg 3 years ago, met me at the show so i HAD to talk to her and not just stand and watch a band. i got to see her and her girlfriend Jenn, they make the best couple in the world and should be an inspiration to everyone that love does exist and you can find it. and i got to see Doug who is the person who got me in touch with Dana...one time i'll write out my Doug meeting story on here, it's a good one. anyways, it was so fucking great seeing these people because all of them i haven't seen in like 3 years (Doug i saw in Los Angeles 2 years ago, but wasn't sure it was him so i didn't say anything to him). i can't wait for Austin!!!
after that i went to the Fillmore to see Kings Of Leon and the like again, i got my ticket that night from a friend of a friend, Bruce, standup fucking guy, he's who got me my tickets to the sold-out Killers shows that Tee and Ess were opening and he's the guy who snuck me down to good seats at the Bridge for Tee and Ess...standup guy. anyways, got my ticket, met up with my friend G and went inside, watched the first 2 bands from decent spots but then G wanted to go to the back for Kings, i did not..about 3 or 4 songs in i decided to go up front, so that's what i did.
other events occured at this show that i was pleased with and maybe i'll write about them later.
well, that's about it...lots of work, lots of shit and not much sleep and i'm here. i finished the first season of the L Word, goddamn that's a great show. alright...that's it for now.
