boo-rah.

You ever heard a story about a ship sinking with all its lights still on? my family's current health situation reminds me of that.

Maternal grand-dad's been wheezing for a week now, with something that the diagnosticians couldn't decide was pneumonia, bronchitis or good old-fashioned asthma. The bronchitis medication they finally prescribed him stopped working today. He's having medicine dreams and can barely breathe.

My aunt, who lives with my grandparents, quit her job to cook for him, and my uncle says he's probably leaving his too. My grandma just got out of cataract surgery recently. I haven't been able to get in touch with her directly, but as my dad says, they're lifemates. There are two very heavy halves in that word.

This morning my dad also sent me the results of my parents' visit with the Eastern medicine practitioner in Hong Kong. Blood pressure issues, immunological weakness, nothing virulent right now but a lot of vulnerabilities waiting to be compromised. It's worrisome.
