foiled again.

Our Internet Service Provider caught my sister and I using one Internet sign-in for two because... well, I think it was because I came up with the retarded idea to transfer files between our computers over MSN, and the 1MB/second bandwidth hogging caught someone's eye. Now, the server will only allow one sign-in at a time, and I've been letting my sister hog it pretty consistently because we're downloading huge movie files -- which I won't elaborate on -- to her computer. If it ain't one form of economic destabilization it's the other, I suppose. :))))))

While cleaning out and transferring relics from my dusty old desktop computer, I found some chat logs of belleiseult and I from 2 years ago. Kind of bizarre that it's been that long. There was a 'list of things/principles/beliefs that are important to me' and it was a nice paradox to note, how much my ideas have changed without really fundamentally changing at all. There was other junk too. Old writing, old graphics, old drawings, aging from 1-5 years old. How embarrassing it is, to be oneself. Igh. Iiighdfjjd. It's a pity that's not something you can retire from except in the, uh, suicide sense.

I'm thinking about cutting off my hair soon. For a long time, I've felt vaguely guilty about the time I chopped it off to shoulder-length only to remember last-minute about Locks of Love, which takes minimum 10" donations from people to make wigs for kids with cancer. My hacked-off hair -- tons of it then, well over a foot in length -- looked like a massacred litter of labrador puppies strewn all over the floor, no longer fit for use. I felt pretty dumb. But by the time I get back to school, my hair will have grown out enough and there's this place in Boston that offers a free cut to donators. I'm probably going to ask for a crew cut (though I suspect belleiseult will never forgive me). Superdyke B-chan, here she comes.

I'll have a flight/drive schedule up in a few days. Anyone live in Washington DC who'd like to meet up? annwyd, are you up for a meet in New York City at the end of August?

Tomorrow I'm going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with my little sister, icebluesilver and a troop of little tutor students to whom icebluesilver hopefully hasn't infected with her brand new pink-eye contagion. Thanks to everyone on my FLIST who posted non-spoilery reviews, I read 'em all and they reinforced this decision. Not that Depp's mad skills and incomparable physical beauty aren't enough.

PS. Anyone else watching the ugly divorce case over ineffablegameMUSH happening? I love this. Dispute of DMCA copyright ownership over a game that spans over 40 different copyright anime, comic, game and movie series, and whose gross physical existence can be attributed to over 100 different persons at different proportions. It's just like Desperate Housewives which, by the way, is an awesome and hilarious and creepifying series. Next thing you know, the suits and briefcases are going to be coming in to divide up the property and quibble at The Law. You three get player-code, she gets two newsfiles, I get this roomdesc, she can keep her fucking @decomp because it has unattractive typoes, and the coding wiz -- whoever the Hell that was -- can buy TinyMUSH 3.0 from Sourceforge. Did I mention that the name of the game itself is a direct quote from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens? I wonder if we're going to contact their lawyers and get those two to tear the phrase down the middle and keep one half each. Possibly the word 'MUSH' will go back to Sourceforge. I'LL SEE YOU IN COURT.

When I was 12 years old, I played at MUCKs based on Jack London's puppy books and, man, that was funny. Nice to see that the divorce rate still hasn't gone down.

Edit: I guess Kishimoto and all other Japanime creators get no compensation because they're small people.
