"Aren't we a fine pair of misfits?"
So I finally watched THE AVIATOR...Good lord, what a good movie. Cate Blanchett is absolutely incredible as Katherine Hepburn. If Kate was anything like she was portrayed, it's no wonder Howard fell for her. Highly recommended, if you haven't seen it.
I also saw WAR OF THE WORLDS which is wonderful. Scary, exciting, beautifully filmed. Steven Spielberg has never let me down...Ever. He is, by far, my favorite director. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his films, even the films of his that people seem to dislike, such as HOOK (which I thought was just charming) and THE LOST WORLD (which was, yes, a two-hour chase scene, but a damned exciting one). I just think he's a marvelous filmmaker, even if he IS "mainstream".
Had a wonderful Saturday with miss Krystle and my two college roomies, Bauhaus and Scottie (along with his wifey, Diane). It feels good to have a weekend off, for a change.
