[Mikaela's on the beach too actually - hauling a surfboard around with her. She hesitates when she sees him; last time they'd seen each other, she'd gone after him.]

[He'd been distracted by the comm too much to notice her approach. At the word, Mordecai turns to face her, body instantly tensing in caution regardless of being fairly sure she was... herself.]

Hey. [He pauses.] You're you today, right?

[She drops her surfboard in the sand, hands up.]

Y-yeah, I'm me again. [She looks a little uncomfortable - she feels pretty terrible about it all.]

I uh, wanted to apologize.

[The surfboard drop and surrender has him almost feeling like an asshole. Generally, Mordecai wouldn't give a damn but Mikaela has managed to work her way into the 'friend' category in record time. He frowns slightly.]

The ship's what had you doing crazy shit, yeah? Don't worry about it.

[She looks a little sheepish, and she tries to smile.]

Yeah, took...a deal with the mirrors, said they'd send me home. Course they didn't. [She shrugs.]

[He's watching her like a hawk, and then shrugging and glancing off down the beach.]

The shield took the most of your hits and everything said? [He smirks.] I've heard worse. Trust me on that.

[Bothered as he might of been by what happened, Mordecai isn't one to get his feelings hurt. Generally.

I didn't mean it. [She drops to sit on her board, chin in her hand.] I said a lot of nasty stuff to a lot of close friends.

Just...cause you heard worse doesn't make me less sorry.

[He's really not good at this stuff. Emotions. Feelings. It's all stuff that Mordecai leaves for someone else to worry about while he goes on his selfish way.

He's having a harder time convincing himself that it's still like that lately.]

Y-yeah. My own fault, I know. [She stares at her hands. While occasionally selfish and superficial herself, Mikaela cares deeply for te people she calls her friends.]

[See, and that's how she knows things are cool with this one. Instead of coddling her, he gives her a 'bitch u crazy' look.

She grins at him.]

Good. Hate to have to kick your ass again.

[With the grin, Mordecai breathes a mental sigh of relief. He cracks a smile of his own and flops down on the sand beside her.]

You wanna fight me, little girl? I could use a good laugh.

[She grins over at him.]

Don't be like that, you're just mad cause I beat you up last time.

[He digs his bare feet into the sand.]

You pack a punch, I'll give you that much.

[Mordecai chuckles before casting her a semi-serious look.]

What had you so worried I was gonna hate you? Others giving you trouble?

[She cheerfully pushes her wet hair out of her face.]

Not so much trouble, really...[She shrugs.]

Got into an argument with Sal while I was crazy-fied, and we said some not so nice things, and it ended up having not so great results. [Like...her saying 'lets be friends for now'.]

[His amusement fades a touch and Mordecai nods. He is blissfully unaware of Mikaela's relationship with Sal, and hasn't met the guy, so his opinion isn't exactly valid.]

[He's not even going to think about how weird it would be for someone to ask if Lilith was his girlfriend. Some things are just too strange.]
