Bloodwing remembers to slow himself down before wrapping his ginormous clawed feet around the metal armguard, cawwing like any good ol' face-melting carrion bird does.]
[Who ever knew a hardcore mercenary could love his pet bird so much. Mordecai makes a happy sound as the bird lands and promptly reaches out with his free hand to affectionately stroke his long lost companions back.]
How you been, boy? They been treating you well? Redd been feeding you alright?
[It's possibly the softest, nicest tone anyone on the boat would of ever heard, assuming of course they can hear him.]
[He glances over at her. Damn, Mordecai must have let his guard down.]
Bloodwing.
[There's a distinct air of pride in his voice as he scratches the bird under the chin. Around that point Mordecai notices the admiring look in her eye and casually shifts the bird a little further away.]
I wouldn't try to touch him, if that's what you're thinking.
[Mordecai is positively thrilled to be back in the company of his bird. The pair had been together for so long that suddenly being without Bloodwing was rather frustrating and wrong.
He carries out a brief inspection of the bird, making sure that Blood is indeed unharmed and unchanged in any way.]
That's my boy. Did you get into any trouble without me? You been fightin' boy?
[Blood trills in response, more than happy to lift his wings for the routine inspection. He has no marks on him, though a feather or two is out of place after the failed Ottsel hunt.
He lets out another, not-so-abrasive cry, head and neck bobbing like that of a chicken.]
[The feathers out of place are noted. Either Blood's been scavenging and not being careful, or he's been up to something. The head bob triggers the sniper to quirk an eyebrow.]
[He watches her a second, debating whether or not he should answer. Mordecai isn't exactly the conversational type; at least not with strangers. Besides, she seems a little younger than the girls he usually associates with.]
Mordecai. How long you been stuck on this boat for?
Masterrr?]

Master was gone, but he found Master. Even failing to devour the tiny Ottsel thing can't dampen the proud joy.]
