The Choir 'Disaster'

Oct 07, 2007 21:16

Disaster is the most fitting thing I could come up with. Dottie, as usual, sounded like either a) a cat giving birth, b)a cat being strangled to death or c) a cat in heat (we've still been unable to figure out which), but we're used to that. No, this time our problems lay with the overall sound. Lack of Susan, while not generally too detrimental, seemed to be disastrous this time around as the sopranos, myself and Kathy, split to up cover various missing member's parts. (parts of it weren't too pretty)

And then there'd the 'new song' something that our pianist and his father wrote together, which I'm not overly fond of at times to begin with. I, having missed two meetings, had no idea what was going on, which was fine after a round or two of it and eventually Kathy and I had our voices set in unison as we usually do, which made the final closing song quite good...despite the fact that she split off to help Dottie and left me to sing with Alexis (who I couldn't hear!)....so much for support, but I'll live.

And that about sums it up...now I have a headache and am currently contemplating retiring early and hoping something keeps Kathy from going on vacation next Sunday and leaving me to cover my bit of the round alone....My nerves be damned!

...Wow, it's been a long while since I've posted in any of my LJ's this many times in a single day, I must be nearing a personal record, if I've not just now set it.
