I have waited tables for a long time (bartender now… you will work up to that) so I know the benefits of doing so. You can work 4 hours a day/shift and make anywhere from $60-$150 cash per shift. It works great with a school schedule and you end up making more part time than you would full time at an hourly wage job that would hire you. Also, most restaurants work within the time frames you can work. If you are taking T TH classes this semester they will schedule you accordingly. If your classes are M W next semester they will change for you. That is the cool thing about this kind of work. Also, if you need time off for vacation you just tell them and they schedule you off. The only down side is that you wont have any money when you get back. Plus side to this is work one shift and you have cashola in your pocket. Waiting tables offers a lot of freedom. You just have to recognize this and not let it turn into a life long career because of the easy benefits.
