Merry Christmas

Dec 25, 2006 19:21

So this has been an awesome Christmas. Not even just because of the gifts, there was a lot of stress but there was also a lot of fun and good times. I know that Christmas is not all about this gifts but everyone gets all tied up in the gifts. The moments this year will be really memorable as well as the gifts(as they are long lasting ones....I hope)I'll start from where my Christmas started:

Day 1 Tuesday December 19th, 2006

I went to a place in Portland called The Grotto. It was really beautiful. Though today I saw it on TV and I found out that all the days aren't the same, our carolers outside were really bad. That was my only complaint besides the fact that I was so cold that I couldn't feel my lips and I kept drooling because I couldn't tell if my mouth was closed or not. After The Grotto, we went to a German restaurant called Gustav's. It was really good. I had fondue, pasta and a taste of a schnitzel. The fondue had a distinct beer taste to it, but it was still good.

Day 2 Wednesday December 20th, 2006

I went with Sara to go see a movie, it was Pirates of the Caribbean 2. I hadn't seen it yet so I was excited. The ironic thing was that I got her a pirate related gift as well. I got her a deck of playing cards that were pirate themed. But my gift was a nuisance. I wrapped it into a huge ball of paper, ribbon, and clear masking tape. It took her more than the entire movie to open it, but she was also watching the movie instead of focusing all her attention on opening it. She also hurt her finger, which I felt bad for. Then we went to Taco Bell and I bought her dinner.

Day 3 Friday December 22nd, 2006 (I know, they don't coincide, but my days were all screwy.)

I went to the Drop-in for their Christmas dinner. I have gone every year, this is my 5th year. This year we didn't have anyone volunteer to cook and all the people were annoying. When I first started going to the drop-in it was mellow, all the people that went were between 16 and 19. Now they are from the ages of 11 to 16 with the occasional 17 or 18 year old. Most of them are really immature. I did get another backpack full of stuff. I got make-up, a cute tank top, stationary cards, nail polish, a brush set and I won a glass chess set in the raffle. My back pack is awesome too, it is purple and black with a couple of lines of white. And it is big enough for all of my textbooks to fit into as well as any other stuff I may need. I also saw my friend Richard while I was there. It was nice to talk to him. I haven't seen him in a while. That was really nice.

Day 4 Saturday December 23rd, 2006

I got to see Amber and we went over to my mom's ex-boyfriends house to have dinner with him and his new wife. It was me, Amber, Tanya, Athena, my mom, Mark(the ex), Eileen(the new wife), Snowanna(mark's daughter), Snowy's boyfriend Craig, her son DJ, her grandma Judy, Aunt Becky, and cousin(I think) Aiden. We had a big crowd and a lot of catching up. With my family, everything was taken in a sick manner. :) Okay not everything but we had a lot of inappropriate topics. We had spaghetti for dinner. It was a nice break from all the traditional stuff. Thenwe opened gifts. I got a santa night light. I thought it was cute. I don't know if I'll ever use it, but it is cute.

Day 5 Sunday December 24th, 2006

Amber stayed the night at my house on Saturday. She came to church with me on Sunday. I felt bad because we couldn't pick up my mom and Tanya. The dinner at my house got canceled. I was a little upset because I had already bought the roasts and everything. But we just made half the food and went along. Linda was sick anyways so it turned out for the best. She wouldn't have been in a good mood and my mom and sisters wouldn't get a good impression of her. I am sad it didn't work out but I guess it was for the best, Sunday is a bad day to plan a dinner for people with no transportation. I also got a lot of talking done. There were some communication problems going on and I got them all cleared up. That helped my stress out a lot.

Day 6 Monday December 25th, 2006...Christmas Day

Today we opened Christmas presents at my house. It was just me, Amber(my twin), Greg(the boyfriend), Amanda(the best friend), Chris(the bf's brother), and Linda(mom, not my mom, but I call her mom sometimes) Linda gave her three kids all gifts that gave the hint that she wanted them to move out. it as funny. Although she also go them fun gifts. Me and Amanda got everyone slippers. I got Tigger, Amanda got Pluto, Chris got King Kong, Amber got Pooh, Linda got Eeyore, and Greg got Goofy. We had everyone open them first and they had to wear them through the whole time we opened gifts. There were a lot of gag gifts. I got Chris 5 World of Warcraft booster packs, and together with Amanda got him a wolf painting. I got Greg the Ah! My Goddess movie and TV series volumes one and two as well as a 2007 Lighthouse calendar. I got Linda a 4 seasons interchangeable sign and a dog clock that had a wagging tail. I got Amanda a shot glass checkers set, and a glass rose.
Then me, Greg, and Amber left to go to dinner with my mom's side of the family. We went to pick Athena up first and then we all went to my grandma's house to open gifts. I made my mom a no-sew fleece blanket and together with my sisters we got her $230 at a day spa in her home city. I got Athena a trenchcoat from hot topic, I got Amber manga, and I got Tanya manga as well as the "Wicked" soundtrack. I got my grandma a family tree/rosebush hanging picture frame thing and I got my aunt and her boyfriend a candle set. Oh and I got my cousin a green tweety.
After gifts, we all went to Shari's restaurant and had dinner. There was some biccering as is to be expected with family, but all in all it was a blast. I hadn't seen my cousin since she was 21 or 22 and now she is 25 and married. It was a blast.
