How the HELL did Pettigrew ever get into Gryffindors? Seriously? If there's one thing he didn't have an OUNCE of, it's courage. Yes, yes, he died because of a moment's pity/mercy, but courage? Bravery? Daring? Pettigrew had nothing of those thing. Just makes me wonder.

Oh God, we could go on about this topic for DAYS. And probably never agree. :) I have given this exact question a lot of thought (because I'm weird like that) and come up with either 1. Peter changed a lot between the ages of 11 and 18, or 2. betraying your friends is a certain kind of courage, because it kinda takes balls to be that much of an asshole. (Or a combination of 1 and 2)

There's also the possibility that, like Harry, Peter was more suited to a different house but begged the sorting hat to be in Gryffindor. And there's the part where he cuts off his own hand for Voldemort, which I always thought was, again, a strange kind of courage. And finally, you always have to keep in mind that what we see in the Harry Potter books is filtered through the eyes of Harry (with a few exceptions) along with all his prejudices and errors. Meaning that Peter might not actually be as snivelling and cowardly as Harry sees him.

See, I have given this way too much thought. Mostly because it annoys the crap out of me when people write fanfic of the Marauders, and ignore Peter's existence. He was there! In Gryffindor! Even if it makes no sense!

P.S. I love that you keep coming back to HP. Don't even stop. :D

Megan I love how much you've thought about this because I too have pondered that question and now thanks to you and 'neea I feel less the hp nerd for thinking on it. I wish people at my school like HP as much as I do...they're all twihards T_T
