this, that, and what did you say?

Been slacking here so I'm throwing out some randomness.

The biggest thing I've done over the past week and-a-half is to get the word out about the exhibition. Speaking of which, I picked up some photos I dropped off at the Rite Aid last week and there were some installation shots I took just after Bridgette and I had hung the paintings. I was excited about the pics and thought about showing them to some of my co-workers, but I thought better of it. I'd rather they see the exhibition first hand and not spoil any surprises that may come up.

Went to a house-warming party Saturday night in my old West Philly neighborhood. Had a good time catching up with friends. What's funny is that most of the guests there were former co-workers of one of my exes, A. We broke up last August and are still good friends. In addition, I've remained friends with some of her friends as well. Weird how that can happen. I'm happy about it since I have another pool of people within my social circle to hang out with from time to time.

There were four hot lesbian couples who hung out on the enclosed porch for most of the night. There was a good breeze blowing through there, so they were definitely onto something. No, I didn't think they were hot just because they were lesbians; they were just all really attractive...every one of them.

The workouts are going exceedingly well. I think I've figured out the right combination of eating before going to the gym and the timing of it. This morning, I had a slice of toast with fruit spread and a small apple a bout an hour before I got to the gym. This combination had the right amount of complex carbs to help me power through the workout. I've also been sleeping more soundly lately due to some cooler nights, so I know that helped.

I watched a little of the storm coverage this morning, but could only take maybe 15 minutes of it. I mean, the whole 'reporter being blown around while trying to describe to us the aluminum siding sailing down the street behind him' gets old quick. I have no problem with them reporting on the storm, since a lot of people are affected by it, but how they do it is another story, no pun intended.

I did feel terrible for those people who had to stand out in the rain for hours before being let into the Superdome, only to have the roof rip open and let in more rain.
......

I love the looks on some customers' faces when I hand them one of my exhibition cards. Repeat it with me, "Oh, I didn't know you were a painter...". It's great when people find out that I do, indeed, have a life beyond the job.
......

I need something new to wear to the opening. I don't go clothes shopping as often as I should. I'll be running around center city the day before trying to find some new stuff. I thought about buying a two-piece suit, but I don't know if I'll have the money for something good. Plus, there would be no time for proper alterations, if any were needed. I'm aiming for something casual but sophisticated, as the style gurus like to say. We'll see. That will be my great adventure this week. I'm leaning towards a nice casual dress shirt and flat-front pants. It's going to be hot that day and a jacket would have me sweating too much. I'd be much more comfortable without one.

How's that for random?
