So I had a totally kick ass time at Steel City Con today!!
It was in the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena, which is a GREAT place for a con. It was big and spacious, and not once did I get that cramped "zomg we're a bunch of nerdy sardines here!" feeling.
We got there, got our wristbands and headed in. I found an AWESOME little poster of Nite Owl there (and I had to get it out of love for the character...lame movie costume or no). That was my first purchase. We walked around a bit more and found a line of tables that had a bunch of really cool vintage stuff. Sadly, all the cool stuff was expensive, and the cheap stuff was just that.
But, we hit the jack pot when we found racks upon racks of $5 t-shirts and $10 hoodies. That's where I found my Pac Man hoodie! Oh dear lord it's awesome. It's black with a full zipper down front, and the whole thing has a Pac-Man course on it. <3 It's a shame that it's now like, 80 degrees outside because Pennsylvania weather likes to fuck with me.
We went down the artist aisle too, and met this great guy that we stood and talked to for like 20 minutes. He had some of the coolest art. It was really sick and weird in the humour department, but of course that's right up my alley. We talked about everything from "Pinky and the Brain", to how we felt that the Watchmen gave a deeper insight into the Nixon administration. Yeah, he was that cool.
We didn't get to meet any of the celeb's there. The lines were too long for the only one I'd wanna see anyway. Anthony Daniels (C3PO) was there. I did manage to snap a pic of him with two little kids carrying light sabers though. :D
I also got me a little art print of Rorschach that this guy did. It was so cool. And I was lucky enough to find a VHS of Mothra vs Godzilla for $2!!!! Boo yeah.
So, behind the cut I've got some pics. Check 'em out.
A blurry picture of the floor.
Two examples of an ongoing art exhibit at the Andy Warhol museum.
Anthony Daniels meets some fans. How cute is the kid on the right? X3
I WANTED TO TAKE HIM HOME! Not only did he make a KICK ASS Comedian, but he was SOOOO super freaking nice! (yeah, not in character but still XD)
Me in my Pac Man hoodie. God yes I love it. It's super comfy and warm!
Here's more. All of this years are up until the Nite Owl poster.
