So, this has certainly been an eventful past few days.
Let's start with Tuesday night. We let the kittens out for a little bit. They were meowing to go out so we let the 3 of them out only 2 came back. We looked and looked for Muddles but she was no where to be found. We thought she might be out hunting or something, so we let it go. She didn't come back at all the next day either. Then, at around 9 on Christmas Eve, the weather took a turn for the worse. It started raining and the wind was howling like crazy.
Jenny decided to look out one more time for her. She heard a quiet meow from the window well near our door. Sure enough, there was Muddles, soaked to the bone and matted with mud. We brought her in and got her dried off. She was favoring her left front paw. We thought that was all that was wrong with her, but she had a big gash on her side. It wasn't bleeding, and although it was quite deep, it was a very clean cut and it didn't seem to be bothering her nearly as much as her paw.
My Mum was a basket case, crying because she shouldn't have let her out side in the first place, it was her fault etc. But we couldn't do anything. No one would be open on Christmas Eve. We cleaned her up and put a bunch of blankets in a basket for her to sleep. For the first time in years I prayed before I went to sleep. I prayed to God, Bast, the Goddess and any one else who I thought would listen that she would pull through.
The next morning, she was up and hobbling along. She went to sleep in the little cat condo that we have and she even ate a little bit. When we came home from my grandparents, she had even gotten onto the couch and was sleeping.
We took her to the vet today. He said she didn't need stitches, but to put some peroxide on it. He gave her some antibiotics too. The only thing we can do for her paw is to make sure she gets lots of rest. We also have to give her some Pedialyte for some minor dehydration. Right now she's on the mend, sleeping in her basket. We got her to eat and drink some more, so I think she's doing much better. We have absolutely NO idea what she could have done either.
Phew...other than that, my Holiday went wonderfully. I got lots of wonderful gifts and I had a great time spending the day with my family.
Among my gifts were: The 1st Season of FREAKAZOID on DVD.
I was so excited for that one. I loved that show as a kid and I often complain that it's not available anywhere or on any more. It's a shame it's one of the forgotten good cartoons. Somehow though, my Mum found it on deepdiscount.com.
I also got a Troy Polamalu jersey <3, the MST3K movie, Guns N Roses Welcome to the Videos, SNL first season, a peace sign necklace, a bath set, and two DS games.
One game is Professor Layton and the Curious Village. If you have a DS. GET THIS GAME. It's so much fun and so addicting! The puzzles range from easy to hard, and the riddles are phenomenal! I absolutely LOVE riddles too. ^__^
Other than that, not much is going on. I don't have any plans for the weekend, though I'd like to get together with
cheez0rs sometime soon. And then I'm going to my friend Ben's for New Years.
So, until next time, I hope you all had Happy Holidays as well.
