Steel City Con '08! aka my Geekiest entry EVAR!
Yep, today I attended my first comic con. It was a blast!
It was considerably smaller than Tekkoshocon (which is Pittsburgh's anime convention), but it had so much awesome (insanely geeky) stuff that I was in my ZONE!
There were a lot of tables selling comics, and although I'm not one for comics per se, I loved looking at all of the action figures, and partaking in geek conversations with others...and best of all...I could have the conversations. Not nearly enough of my friends are geeks XD
There were also a lot of guests (more than Tekko has). I got to meet a group of pirate actors that dressed up like characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Kane Hodder (the guy who played Jason in Friday the 13th, and a bunch of pro Star Wars re-inactors.
The two hookers from Pirates of the Caribbean were there too, but the line was crazy long. There was also the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld, and 80's pop singer Tiffany.
In other news...I got the Slash Biography! *dances* I've wanted it for, like, a year and a half. And, since I got a whole bunch of Borders gift cards for my graduation party, I finally decided to splurge and get it. I'm so excited, and of course I'm going to be giving you updates that you won't care about, as I read it!
