Cracked!

Sep 26, 2009 11:31

Dear Mr. Kalish,

Thank you for your inquiry. Upon investigation, it appears your LiveJournal account was compromised by someone in the very early hours yesterday morning, likely right after they compromised your Gmail account. They later switched to a previous email address used with your account and removed your Gmail account from the journal, which is why you received the message that you did that the system did not recognize the email address.

I have reset the email address for your account to your Gmail address, since you have regained control of that. This will trigger a validation email to be sent to you. Once you have validated the address, you can then reset the password to regain access ----.

However, I am very sorry to have to tell you that the intruder erased all your entries within a matter of a few minutes after gaining access to your account. LiveJournal does retain backup copies of entries once they are deleted -- the entry deletion process permanently removes the entry from our servers. I am so sorry that we cannot assist you further than just returning control of the account to you.

Regards,
Annika
