i'm enjoying this little stay-at-home vacation i've got going on. ^_^ too bad i've only got one day of it left. ah well; i guess it needs to end, so the summer can finish and i can go back to not having my mom hound me about things i have to do nonstop. i've finally reached the phase in summer where i really miss school... i'm going to miss home more often than usual when i go back, but as alex and i have reasoned, i will have a car, so we'll still be able to see one another fairly often during the school year.
today my mom reminded me about the cruise our family's taking in december. i'm excited about it; it'll be the first time i've left the country. we're going in celebration of our grandparent's 50th anniversary, and we're visiting ports in mexico, jamaica, and some other places. ^_^ man, this concept of being somewhere other than the US (especially the east coast), is rather... alienating (no pun intended, i swear >.>). but i'm excited. ^_^
i just have a couple more weeks of work left, and i'm kind of glad about that. as nice as it is to receive paychecks, these 40 to 45-hour workweeks can often leave me a bit more drained than i would like. i know i'm going to have to put up with this later in life, but i'd rather it not be now. 30 hours a week doesn't really bother me, but for some reason, safeway really doesn't like to give me what i requested when i was hired. i've reiterated this to the management a little while ago, but i guess it's a little too soon to find out if they will actually have the heart to comply with my simple request/demand. at any rate, i've got to file my two-week notice soon, i guess. probably during the last week of july.
not much else is going on. i'd give things about a 7.5 out of 10 rating. yup, the .5 is absolutely necessary.
