Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, Doctor Who or Buffy or Angel or anything like that. So, yeah, just ... not mine. But I do own Libby! And I kinda own this completely cracked storyline that’s developing a life of its own and I’m becoming way too attached to.
Author’s Note: I apologise if this starts off a bit Buffy-centric. It’s necessary, I think. It’ll become more Janto-y in later chapters. Tosh (and Willow by association) also have a big part in this fic. But bear with me because this is the darkest most angsty thing I’ve ever written. And if you like certain pairings (Xander/Anya, Spike/Buffy, Willow/Tosh) you’ll be yelling “FIX IT!” within a few chapters. Forgive me, it won’t be fixed that soon. And some won’t be fixed at all... [Jen - She’s not kidding ya know!]
Okay, I have no excuse for taking so long apart from the fact Children of Earth crushed me. I will be fixing canon in the next part, however. No doubt about that. Also? I've started writing this again so as long as I use my brain and remember to post, you should be getting more parts soon.

Christmas Day

“This is ridiculous!” Buffy slammed her laptop down on Tosh’s desk.
“Well done, you killed it,” Tosh snapped.
“I don’t care!” Buffy shouted. “It’s been almost two days and we’re nowhere near finding out where Mad Folks’ is!”
“It’s not like we haven’t been trying, Buff,” Xander said. “We haven’t slept for days.”
“I know,” Buffy yelled. She calmed, lowered her voice and sank into her chair. “I know.”
09:43
“Gwen …” Jack and Ianto popped out of nowhere, either side of her as she got out of her car and moved around to get Cole out. Rhys hadn’t been pleased when she’d brought a kid home with her, but when Cole had launched himself at Rhys and shouted his name, loudly, he had melted.
“What do you want?” Gwen asked, nervously. She knew that tone. Jack wanted something.
“Ianto has been invited -” Jack started.
“Invited my arse,” Ianto said. “My presence was demanded.”
“- to his parents for Christmas dinner. We don’t want to leave Cole so we were wondering …”
“If I’d go with you?” Gwen asked. She pulled Cole out of the children’s seat and passed him to Jack, who accepted him, gratefully. Cole grinned and tucked his head into Jack’s neck, which pleased his father no end. “I’d love to. Anything has to be better than dinner with the entire Williams clan.”
“Oh thank goodness,” Ianto said, hugging her. “This means a lot to us, Gwen.”
“I know.” She kissed Ianto’s cheek, then Jack’s. “When do you want to leave?”
“Eleven would do. We’re lunch-is-dinner people,” Ianto said. “As long as we arrive early enough for mam to fawn over you and kiss me repeatedly, it’ll be fine.”
09:51
As soon as Jack stepped into the hub, Libby collared him.
“Jack, I’m begging you. Order me to stay in the hub. Tell my mom there was an urgent matter I have to deal with. Don’t make me go to Christmas dinner with the family. Please! I only just escaped them! Have mercy!” Libby begged.
“Oy,” Ianto said. “If I have to be subjected to it, you do too.” He grabbed her by the collar and towed her away from Jack, pushing her towards Buffy. “Go help them.”
She pouted. “Meanie,” she said, walking backwards towards the group.
“We’re leaving at eleven. Meet us at Gwen’s car! It has the child seat!” Ianto shouted.
Jack turned to him. “That’s a thought,” he said. “We should get a child seat. And some stuff for home. For when Cole eventually comes home.”
“You’re right,” Ianto replied. “We should do that after Christmas.”
“Why wait until after Christmas? The sooner we get this stuff the sooner Cole can come home and...” Ianto put his hand over Jack’s mouth.
“Jack, you need to accept that for the time being Cole is going to have to stay with Gwen until he gets used to us and even then ... Jack, he might prefer to stay with her.” He gave Jack a sad smile.
“He’ll come home with us eventually,” Jack said, with a grin. “I know it.”
“How? How do you know it?”
Jack grinned wider as he backed towards his office and, as he stepped in, he shouted back, “He called me ‘daddy’ in his sleep last night.”

“We brought clothes,” Xander said, as he and Spike walked into Annabel’s room, bags in hand. “We can’t go back to your place ... they burnt it.”
She looked round from the window. “You’re jokin’?” She sighed and pushed her hair off her face with her hands. “Everything I owned was there.” She took the bags and saw Spike hovering in the doorway. She looked at the window. “Oops, I’m sorry!” She pulled the curtains. “I always forget you’re ... you know.”
Spike shrugged and walked in. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he said. He held out a tray. “Brought food.”
“Thanks.” She took it from him, giving him a small smile.
“Annabel, we’re trying to work out where Mad Folks’ is still and we’re nowhere closer. We need to find our friend,” Xander said, pleadingly. “Is there anything else you can think of?”
She shook her head. “I’ve been tryin’, hon, I really have.” She sat down on the bed, one leg tucked under her. “But nothing more is coming back to me. If I remember...” She pursed her lips. “Hm...” She wrinkled her brow. “I think ... I remember something Ada said once about the place. She said it was an old hospital or jail or something? I think she said something about guys in red caps...”
Xander looked at Spike, who was already staring at him like they’d hit the jackpot. “That’s it,” Xander said. “Let’s go.” They started to move towards the door. Xander paused, looked at Annabel, shot her a grateful smile and said, “Thank you,” before leaving.
As he and Spike walked down the corridor of the hotel adjoining to the hub, Xander said, “I’ve been meaning to ask.”
Spike groaned. “Whatever it is, spit it out.”
“Why haven’t you dumped her? If anyone cheated on me I’d ...”
“I love her.”
“I know, but really ...”
“I thought I’d said this. She can shag whoever she fucking likes. I’ll still love her. I’ll still sleep in the same bed as her. I’ll still worship the bloody ground she walks on. Except Angel.”
“What?”
“She can’t shag Angel. That’s the only one I’d leave her over. Because if she and Angel ...” He made a hand motion. “There’d be no point sticking around anyway.”
“I think Angel has his sights set on someone else these days,” Xander said.
“Must like Buffy’s castoffs,” Spike said.
They laughed.
They looked at each other.
“Oh God, that was almost friendly,” Xander said.
“Yeah.” Spike looked at him. “I hated it.”
“Me too. Let’s just ... go...”
10:47
Spike and Xander walked into the hub and made a bee-line for Buffy’s desk around which she, Libby, Owen and Angel were working. Owen and Angel were talking (flirting?) quietly and Libby was smirking at them as they worked.
When they got to the desk, Xander pointed at Buffy, who had her head leant on her arms resting on the desk, fast asleep, and looked at Spike. “I’ll take her home and...”
“I’ll take her,” Spike said. “It’s snowing; there’s no sun.”
“Why’d you shy from the window then?”
“I don't want people getting in the habit of leaving curtains open.” He crouched down by Buffy’s chair and kissed her temple. “Pet, wake up, darlin’, I’ll take you home.”
“We didn’t want to wake her,” Owen said.
“Thanks,” Spike said, genuinely as Buffy came around. “Pet, I’m going to take you home. Come on. Xander will help this lot find Willow. We have new information. You need sleep.”
“Mm, Spike, I love you,” she mumbled as he lifted her half into his arms.
“I know you do, love,” he said, kissing her hair. “I love you too.” He towed her towards the cog door and Xander watched them go.
“I will not say ‘aw’, I will not say ‘aw’, I will not say ‘aw’, I will not say ‘aw,’” he started chanting.
“Right there with you,” Angel said.
“What’s the new information?” Owen asked. Xander turned to him and started to tell him what Annabel said.
11:07
By the time they got home, Buffy was wide awake. She’d argued at first, but then Spike had pointed out they’d had no proper time together for ages and he wanted at least a little time with her. And that he, too, was exhausted. She nodded at him, looped her arm through his and they walked through the snow together until they went into her flat. She dumped her shoes by the sofa and sighed.
Spike pointed at the bedroom. “Go get some sleep, pet.”
Buffy turned on him and grinned. “Not tired yet.” She walked up to him, staring up at him intently. He peered down at her. “Make me tired.”
He smiled. “I missed you.”
“I’m sorry.”
He swooped down, kissing her hard. Her arms went around his neck and he wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her up to wrap her legs around his waist as he stumbled towards the bedroom and slammed her back into the bedroom doorway. She scrabbled at the hem of his shirt, lifting it up over his toned chest and up to his shoulders. He wriggled out, one arm at a time, the other holding her in place at all times, breaking the kiss only for a moment as he pulled the black material over his head.
He pulled back slightly to pull her shirt over her head and kiss her shoulder blade and neck before kissing her on the mouth again, their kissing slightly sloppy as he pulled off her bra and hitched up her skirt, pulling her panties down and off somehow without breaking the kiss as they tumbled towards the bed.
They landed with a thump, Spike undoing his belt, propped up on one arm and one knee as he slipped his jeans off, the belt buckle hitting the ground noisily.
Buffy moaned as Spike ran his cool hands up her thighs and grabbed at his face, pulling him down on her to kiss again as he pulled her skirt off her and positioned himself. Their eyes locked for a moment then he entered her swiftly. She arched her back off the bed and pulled him down on top of her closer, kissing him hard.
She looked up at him. “Stop.”
He stopped moving, looking at her quizzically, slightly hurt. She grabbed him and spun them over, careful that he never stopped being inside of her.
She watched him for a moment, lying below her. Her hands splayed out on his smooth, cool chest. She tilted her head to the side throwing her hair over her shoulder and tucking it behind her ear. “One time,” she said. He looked at her, confused, and still a little bit hurt, but now more intrigued. “Bite. Drink.” She bent down to whisper in his ear. “Mark me as your own. I want you not Angel or Owen. Take his mark and replace it with your own.”
His eyes widened. “Buffy, I ...” She rolled her hips, clenching her inner muscles. He closed his eyes and bit his lip, unable to speak as sensation coursed through him in waves.
“One time deal. Your chip still works on everyone else, this won’t endanger anyone.” She moved her hair again as it had started to fall over her shoulder and stroked his face with her other hand. “I trust you and I want you to do this.”
Spike grabbed the back of her head, hard enough to hold her but gentle enough not to hurt. “Are you sure?” She nodded, only a flicker of nervousness in her eyes. He pulled her head down and kissed her as he thrust his hips up and her breath hitched. Her eyes closed and his lips left hers, kissing his way down her face, around her chin and down her neck to the scar, which he kissed, and licked as she rode him, gently, distracting herself.
His face morphed and he looked sideways at her, locking his yellow eyes with her green. They stared at each other for a long moment until he swooped down and pierced her skin with his fangs. She cried out from the combination of pleasure and pain, fingernails digging into his shoulders as he drank from her, her crimson blood dripping down her pale skin.
His face morphed back and he sucked on the two holes he had created as Buffy shook around him, her orgasm shooting through her. He licked the holes as his movements became faster and met her mouth with his again, kissing her, sharing the taste of her blood with her as she returned from ecstasy and he came inside of her, holding her close.
She slumped onto him, lying on his chest, a few small drops of blood falling from her neck and onto his pale skin. He wrapped his arms around her and pushed her gently off. She rolled over, pulling him with her by his arm so he was spooning her, arms around her. Drained, of energy not blood, she snuggled against him as he pulled the covers over them both.
“I love you,” she whispered. “I’m in love with you. Madly. Deeply.”
“I know, pet. And I love you too. More than I’ve loved anyone in my life.” He kissed her temple and then her newly opened scar.
“More than Drusilla?” she asked, sleepily.
“More.”
“More than Angel?”
He stiffened. “I did not ever love that poof.”
She giggled.
“What about you? More than Angel and Captain Cardboard?” Spike asked.
“Yes.”
That one word echoing in the air, Spike settled down, his arms around Buffy, and went to sleep by her side.
