just some pics and an Ernesto Update!

Cut for photo intensity....

Welp we survived Ernesto... …..we had flood waters ½ way up the front yard. We have a little bit of siding damage, gutter damage, back door flooding, and roof damage. The tree branches wreaked havoc on us. The crazy part is I STILL had to go to work! We had NO power, only an emergency generator, so we only had ONE register open, and we ACTUALLY had crazies in there shopping! Sheesh….. rednecks. Gotta ;love em! :-) I spent the day SOAKED to the bone at work from being outside WAY too many times. I had shannons NICE gortex jacket, but it didn’t keep me dry from the thighs down! Hehe, my shoes, pants and feet were drenched….also wind whipped off my hood so I got soaked all down my face, head and top of my shirt….i looked like a drowned rat…but then again most insane people that actually showed up for work today looked like that!

Andrew and Tim did well with the storm and I called them often to check on them. I even came home at one point to check on things….and OMG I thought I was going to be one of those idiots stuck in the flood waters on the road. Big Bethel was flooded in TWO places up to the floorboards before I even got to my street! The water on Todds lane came up to about MIDDLE of my door on my truck! The truck almost died twice being submerged like that, but amazingly enough, I was one of the FEW that made it the whole way….over 30 people were stranded on Todds Lane ALONE. Even Mercury was flooded, MERCURY! Its 8 lanes across and it was a RIVER in spots! ….they even closed the mercury blvd exit on the interstate, AND the power plant parkway exit ….there were a LOT more than that closed, but I wasn’t that brave, I didn’t want to check THOSE out!

What a day. The wind and rain were pretty extreme, and we even had two major maples ONE street over from us on Big Bethel SPLIT in half at the base of the trunks!!!! This was only a tropical depression when Ernesto got to us, but DAMN he sure did some damage! I ALREADY called Allstate to get the damaged fixed. It is a small claim, but dammit these were NEW gutters and NEW siding! Im getting it FIXED! Stupid storms…..

Other than that, we still have over 10,000 homes on the peninsula with NO electricity, Needless to say, I am buying, TOMORROW, the noah weather station from Bass Pro Shops….it’s a NOAH weather radio, flashlight, and tv all in one! And 40% off for me! Whoohoo!!!!

ON TO FLOOD PICS!
