Give me credit. I'm trying to catch up!
I Have Set Aside a Few Patterns for My Review. I’m excited for this year’s KAL (Knit Along.) I will plan this geared toward my beginner students. Have you made a sweater before? As I look through my patterns I’m looking for good clear lines. Are you interested in a KAL?
You WILL need to make a gauge swatch for this pattern. If you have knitted a proper gauge swatch before, then you may want to see me about how to do it.
Beyond the Basics. From time to time I schedule classes in my Beyond the Basics section for knitters and crocheters that want to learn a little more than basic how to knit and how to crochet. Are you ready to stretch your knitting wings? For these knitting classes you must know how to knit and purl and be able to do so with ease. For the crochet classes you must know how to crochet into your foundation chain, how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet. Watch this space for the next Beyond the Basics class announcement. You can register for all of my classes on my

10 Things I Want
Don’t Knit This. This sweater is why you need to make a gauge swatch. Is this how you would like your sweaters to fit? If not, learn how to properly knit a gauge swatch. Otherwise you may end up with a sweater that’s too small or one that fits like this one.

43 Years! Recently Ken and I celebrated being married 43 years. He used to say that every 50 years we need to renew our marriage license. He stopped saying that a few years ago. I wonder if he worried that I would not want to renew it. Not a chance!
Along with our kids, Ken is the best person to come into my life. Of course without him, we wouldn’t even have our kids. But I couldn’t imagine these past 43 years without him. There could have been no one better or sweeter. He makes me laugh every single day of my life-an important gift as we deal with more challenges as we get older.
I write about him and we share a giggle about some of the things he says and does, but seriously, I wouldn’t have him any other way. So yeah, I think I’ll keep him. He’s a prince and my very best friend. I admire him more than anyone in this world. Ken is a good man.
Unexpected Benefit of Knitting. It gives you a sense of pride. Not a lot of people know how to knit. Showing off something you’ve knitted to someone who has no idea how you managed it is like showing off some sort of new magic trick. They’re going to be in awe of your newly acquired witchcraft and you’ll receive a ton of compliments (plus requests for scarves, but you can handle that however you want).
What’s on My Hooks & Needles? I have completed the body and am half way through the first sleeve of the Anchor Sweater. I haven’t sewn on the buttons of the two recent sweaters I’ve finished but hope to get to it this week.
I am knitting the leg of the first of the cashmere socks.
Currently on my needles are my mitered squares afghan from left over sock yarn and my purple cashmere merino pullover. All of the fancy work has been done. What is left are miles and miles of Stockinette Stitch and I need to reknit one sleeve. But I am actually considering that I might frog it. It is ¾ completed but I may have lost interest in it.
