WWDD

I should be caught up by now but I'm not.

Things have finally slowed down to normal. I never thought I would be so glad for normal.  When I finish writing this, I will sit down with a peach iced tea, feet up on the ottoman and my knitting.  I hope you’re getting some knitting time in today too.

Beyond the Basics. From time to time I schedule classes in my Beyond the Basics section for knitters and crocheters that want to learn a little more than basic how to knit and how to crochet.  Are you ready to stretch your knitting wings?  For these knitting classes you must know how to knit and purl and be able to do so with ease.  For the crochet classes you must know how to crochet into your foundation chain, how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and triple crochet.  Watch this space for the next Beyond the Basics class announcement.  You can register for all of my classes on my website.

May gives us two Beyond the Basics classes!

Don’t Knit This. Is there a Moondoggy in your life?  If there is and you are considering these special moondoggy pants, please don’t.  As a rule, surfers are generally a peaceful group.  But if your moondoggy shows up at the beach in these, then we can’t be responsible for what will take place.  Please think before you knit or crochet.  And there will be pictures.  Think about it.  Just don’t do it.

Moondoggy

WWDD. Kathleen showed up for Frog Pond a few weeks ago with a couple projects with which she had grown frustrated.  She told me, as she attempted to work through the issues, she asked herself, “What would Denise do?”

I like that.

Food and Water Needs: Preparing for a Disaster or Emergency Follow these steps to make sure you and your family have enough safe food and water (for drinking, cooking, bathing, etc.) available in the event of a disaster or emergency.

Prepare an Emergency Food Supply

A disaster can easily disrupt the food supply at any time, so plan to have at least a 3-day supply of food on hand.

Keep foods that:

Have a long storage life

Require little or no cooking, water, or refrigeration, in case utilities are disrupted

Meet the needs of babies or other family members who are on special diets

Meet pets’ needs

Are not very salty or spicy, as these foods increase the need for drinking water, which may be in short supply.  Source:  https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/foodwater/prepare.html

What’s on My Hooks & Needles?   For the current child’s cardigan, I have finished the back, and am almost finished with the left front.  I should have that done today and then will cast on the right front.

I am still on the leg of the second sock that I’ve been working.  I really need to work on that second sock so I can begin a new pair.

Currently on my needles are my mitered squares afghan from left over sock yarn and my purple cashmere merino pullover.  All of the fancy work has been done.  What is left are miles and miles of Stockinette Stitch and I need to reknit one sleeve.  But I am actually considering that I might frog it.  It is ¾ completed but I may have lost interest in it.

What’s on your hooks and needles?
